BASI Pilates Instructor in Training, RYT 500 Yoga Teacher, Certified Yogabody Stretch Coach, Certified Yoga Wall Instructor (Level 1 & 2)
Erika Geiser has always led an active lifestyle, having enjoyed sports for most of her life. Growing up in Canada, she was an avid figure skater and participated in team sports throughout her school years. She discovered yoga and Pilates at a time when her body needed healing. Immediately feeling the profound effects of her consistent practice, Erika dedicated herself to learning as much as she could about both forms of movement.
After completing her first yoga teacher training, Erika moved overseas, where she began teaching group and private classes and creating workshops. Her focus on the mind-body connection, along with her attention to correct alignment and posture, led her to study yoga for back health and therapeutic approaches to teaching. During this time, she also continued her Pilates practice and experienced firsthand how subtle movements could alleviate aches and pains while improving strength, posture, and overall well-being. As her passion for Pilates grew, she began teaching mat Pilates classes and is now in the process of becoming a certified BASI Pilates Instructor.
Erika brings over a decade of experience in working with students, meeting them where they are on their journey to wellness. She provides a safe and supportive environment, helping students find strength and ease in their bodies. Her classes are accessible, challenging, energizing, and rejuvenating. Erika emphasizes the harmony of breath, movement, and mindfulness to create positive change in the body. She is especially aware of the importance of safe rehabilitation from injuries and surgeries, having worked with many students dealing with ailments and limitations.
A lifelong student of body mechanics and anatomy, Erika also incorporates principles of Ayurveda into her life, aligning her personal practices with seasonal rhythms. Outside of teaching, she enjoys cooking healthy meals for her family, spending time outdoors, and traveling. She is excited to be part of the DSTT team and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and passion with her students.
